29 June 2014 - Summer Daze

Madeline loves to go to Eric and Lara's house and play with their chickens.

And their next door neighbor's baby goats.

Eric and Lara gave us some cherries.  We ate a bunch, and then Joanne and the girls made a cherry pie.

Emily and Madeline put on a puppet show for us this week.

22 June 2014 - A little more Utah and a Swim Meet

Grandma always has fun things for the kids to do.  Here's Emily having a whack at the pinata.

Petting the snake at the Bean Museum animal show at BYU.

On Tuesday, our last day in Utah, we were going to do something outdoorsy, but the weather didn't cooperate (see below), so we went bowling instead.

On June 17th in Utah County, this is what the dashboard of our car reported.

When the clouds cleared a little bit, snow had covered Mt. Timpanogos.  We figured the snow line was between 6,500 and 7,000 feet.

We had promised the girls we'd take them for Rita's Italian Ice, so despite the cold weather, we bundled up and made good.  Madeline even used her mustache straw from her Slurpee.

We came back to Idaho on Wednesday, and on Saturday went to Twin Falls for a swim meet.  Here's Jessica on the backstroke, neck and neck with the competition.  She pulled away on the last 50 and won the event.

Both girls had a great meet.

While we were in town, we went to see Shoshone Falls.

It was a toasty warm and bright sunny day.

15 June 2014 - Jennifer's Wedding

This week we went to Utah for Jennifer's wedding.  While folks were out getting ready for the wedding, I took the girls (including Maya) hiking at Bridal Veil Falls.

A shot of the falls from the top of the rock fall.

Saturday was the happy day.  Here's a shot of all three sisters at the temple just after the ceremony.

On Thursday before the wedding, we went out boating on Deer Creek.  Madeline rode the tube with Calista, Eden and Bailey.  Bailey is Jennifer's new stepdaughter.

Dax liked riding the boat with Grandma.

Dax actually liked riding the boat with everyone.

He even liked riding the tube with the girls, as long as Aunt Joanne was holding him good and tight.

8 June 2014 - Start of Summer

Our ward has been assigned to thin peaches out at the church orchard.  We've been enjoying going out and helping with the trees.

This weekend I had my first big ride since coming to Idaho.  We rode to Garden Valley, a mountain town about half way between McCall and Sun Valley.  It is beautiful there.

This is my new biker gang from church.  My bike is the one in the foreground.
