27 March 2016 - A Hindu Easter

This weekend we went to the Holi Festival at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. We got there early on Saturday when people were still starting to arrive. Here are the girls in front of the temple, chalk-free.

We don't know these people, but this action shot of face-full of orange chalk pretty much epitomizes what happens if you go to this festival.

This is a view looking back down the hillside from the steps of the temple. They had a large sound stage set up for bands to play music. They had a few people come out and lead mass yoga sessions too.

Jessica got a mouthful of purple chalk at one point. We laughed.

All the girls got henna tattoos. It was very sunny, but still very cold.

On Saturday night, after a shower and the General Conference Women's Meeting, we got together with Jennifer's family for a little egg coloring.

Here are Jessica and Emily working their craft.

20 March 2016 - Crafts and Construction

This week was Spring Break at UVU. We had a pretty big snow storm, so Joanne and I took to the mountains. This is our 'us-ie' at the top of Solitude.

Our neighbor/Joanne's fried had a baby, so Joanne shifted into crafting high-gear.

The finished product in all it's glory.

Guess who was sharing her drink with baby Adrienne?

We also spent a lot of time during spring break working on our house. The builders had to move some of our duct work during construction and as a result, there was a lot of dead space behind one of the hallway walls. They had promised us that they were going to put in a linen closet to take advantage of the dead space, but they never did. So we did it this week.

We've been working  on the basement a little too. We've done a bit of framing and drywall, and are starting to bring our movie/game room together.

With the weather turning nice, the girls asked if we could go ahead and set up the trampoline. The next step here is to get it in the ground.

13 March 2016 - Ballroom and Choir

This week our kids were at their artistic best. Madeline got to compete in a competition with her ballroom dance team at the national championships at BYU, It was in the Marriott Center, so the pictures aren't great. Her team won a gold medal in the team competition, and she and her partner advanced to the quarterfinals in both Fox Trot and Swing.

Getting psyched up for the team competition.

This picture also didn't turn out great, but what you're seeing here is Emily's school choir. Jessica and Emily both had singing performances on Thursday night.

On Friday I helped with a STEM fair for high school girls. We had a table where we did information systems trivia -- Jeopardy style with buzzers and prizes. It was a hit and we were busy the whole time.

6 March 2016 - Skiing with Karl

This week Karl came to visit for a couple of days to ski with us. We started at Snowbird on Saturday.

Top of the tram, 11,000 feet on Hidden Peak.

A view looking east toward Park City from Hidden Peak.

On Saturday, we switched to Brighton. We were joined by our bishop and his daughter. This is him, his daughter Janelle, and Madeline on the Majestic chairlift.

Karl and I went back to an old favorite -- the Milli Chutes. We used to ski these chutes a lot together in our younger days.

Karl wasn't able to join us for this day, but I couldn't resist including this shot from the Arrowhead lift, looking across Amy's Ridge into Bishop's Bowl right after a snowstorm at Sundance.

We also enjoyed a dinner on Friday night with Michael and Shauna, old friends from our BYU days. I was lame and didn't take any pictures, but we did enjoy our time together.
