21 October 2012 - Halloween is coming!

Emily and Madeline made Halloween cookies at church this week.  This is me enjoying a Frankenstein cookie they made me.

Joanne made some too.  She made some 'wormy apple' ones -- so crafty.

And of course some kitty and pumpkin ones.

The girls wanted to carve their pumpkins too.  It's not my favorite activity in the world, but the girls had a good time, and I was glad to help them.

Madeline's pumpkin was the biggest, and also had the toughest skin.

Here's Joanne's pumpkin.  I'm sure Oma would have loved it.

The pumpkins finally got done.  Jessica's is a candy corn, Madeline's is a spooky jack-o-lantern, Joanne's owl, and Emily's is a bat.

Saturday was Super Saturday at the church.  Joanne took the girls to make crafts.  Here are some mummy candles Emily helped make.  They're also featured in the photo above.

14 October 2012 - Mommy in Utah

This week was Fall Break, so Joanne went to Utah to be with her family.  While she was gone, we baked some rolls and played Doodle Dice.

Joanne sent us some pictures of recently snow covered Mt. Timp.

'Tis the seasons to turn 2x4 ends into crafty holiday decorations.

I have several of the men's water polo players in classes this fall, so I attended their Saturday game to support them.

I also wanted to go see the football game.  We had sad tragedy affect our football team while I was in Myrtle Beach, and I have several of the football players in classes, so I wanted to be supportive of them too.

While Joanne was in Utah, she went to a witchy party, celebrated Jennifer's birthday, and helped Phil and Colby carve pumpkins.

7 October 2012 - Myrtle Beach

This week was my annual conference.  This year it was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The first night, they took us the the Carolina Opry and a giant seafood buffet.  This was the lobby of the restaurant.

This was the view out my hotel window.

Another view from my hotel.  Despite the nice pictures, I wasn't able to spend much time enjoying the scenery.  The conference kept me busy pretty much full time.  Myrtle Beach is a nice place though.

While I was gone, Emily found a friend that she felt like she needed.  She didn't get it though.

On the drive home from the conference, fall colors were beginning to emerge the farther north I came.

30 September 2012 - Jessica's Glasses

Joanne's been working diligently on another quilt.  She's very crafty.

Fall is arriving.  Joanne took a walk this week and the leaves are starting to come down.

There's still a little warm sunshine though too.

The big news this week is that Jessica now wears glasses.  She got them and immediately said "I can see!"  I wonder what took her so long to speak up about her fuzzy vision.
